The heart of the kingdom and home of the massive glowing tree known as the Erdtree. This is where the gods once ruled directly. Leyndell, Royal Capital is the most important city in Elden Ring and the true heart of the Golden Order. It’s massive, ancient, and filled with golden architecture that reflects the power of the Erdtree towering above it.
At first glance, Leyndell looks like the one place that hasn’t completely fallen apart—but the deeper you go, the more you realize it’s just as fractured as the rest of the Lands Between.

Leyndell feels frozen between glory and collapse:
- Golden knights still guard the streets
- Citizens and soldiers wander like ghosts of the past
- Ash, decay, and silence fill parts of the city
It’s like the capital never fully accepted that its age of power is over.
Morgott, the Omen King
Morgott, the Omen King is the true ruler of Leyndell.
- He defends the Erdtree and the Golden Order at all costs
- Despite being born cursed (an “Omen”), he remains loyal
- He sees the Tarnished as unworthy of becoming Elden Lord
He’s one of the most important gatekeepers in the entire game.
